Glow or Fig? Choose the SHIFAH Moisturiser Your Skin Has Been Asking For

You want softer skin, a fresh-looking glow and a moisturiser that feels right. But when two products both promise hydration, how do you choose?

Let us start with what your skin has been asking for. Is it dullness and uneven-looking tone you notice most? Or dry-feeling patches, tightness and a need for more comfort?

SHIFAH Glow Moisturiser and SHIFAH Fig Barrier Repair Moisturiser both bring moisture care to your routine, with different priorities. Here is how to choose the one that fits yours.

The quick choice: radiance or moisture-barrier support?

Choose Glow if you want a lightweight, non-greasy moisturiser for dullness, uneven-looking tone and a fresh, hydrated finish that sits under SPF and makeup.

Choose Fig if dry-feeling skin, tightness or flakiness is your main concern, and you want nourishing moisture care with five ceramides, squalane and hyaluronic acid.

You do not need both to have a considered routine. Start with your main priority and choose one clear moisturising step.

Glow Moisturiser: your fresh, radiance-focused finish

Glow Moisturiser with Vitamin C is designed for dull-looking skin and a complexion that needs a little extra glow. Its lightweight, non-greasy finish makes it an easy step after serum and before morning sunscreen.

Think of it as softness, hydration and radiance in one daily cream. It is also a useful choice if you want a moisturised base for foundation without a heavy finish.

What is in the Glow blend?

  • Vitamin C: supports a brighter, more even-looking complexion.
  • Glycerin and hyaluronic acid: attract moisture for a hydrated, supple feel.
  • Jojoba and shea butter: soften skin and help reduce moisture loss.
  • Turmeric and vitamin E: complement its radiance-focused, skin-conditioning care.
  • Caffeine: helps refresh the appearance of tired-looking skin.
  • Bacillus ferment: supports a smoother, more refined skin feel.

Fig Moisturiser: nourish dry-feeling skin and support its moisture barrier

Fig Barrier Repair Moisturiser focuses on dry-feeling skin, tightness and flakiness. Its nourishing blend helps skin feel softer and more comfortable while supporting a hydrated, smoother-looking finish.

This is the moisturiser in our Sacred routine. Choose it when your priority is a comfortable moisture foundation, with ceramides and conditioning ingredients working together.

What is in the Fig blend?

  • Five ceramides, EOP, NG, NP, AS and AP: support the moisture barrier and help retain hydration.
  • Squalane and shea butter: soften skin and help reduce moisture loss.
  • Glycerin and hyaluronic acid: attract moisture for hydrated, plumper-looking skin.
  • Fig extract: brings antioxidant-rich botanical care inspired by heritage.
  • Peptides and vegan collagen: complement conditioning care for smoother-looking skin.
  • Oat, frankincense and aloe: botanical ingredients in the comfort-focused blend.

Fig Moisturiser is halal, alcohol-free, vegan and fragrance-free. If your skin is sensitive or reactive, patch test and introduce it gradually so you can judge how the complete formula suits you.

Why hydration and barrier care belong in a tone-focused routine

When dark marks are your main concern, it is easy to focus only on serum. Moisturiser has a different job: bringing hydration, softness and comfort alongside your focused care.

Glow brings vitamin C and a radiance-focused finish to that step. Fig centres moisture-barrier support and dry-skin comfort. Both can have a clear place without asking moisturiser to do every job in your routine.

What about fine lines and a tired-looking complexion?

Hydrated skin can look plumper and smoother. That makes moisture care a useful part of a routine for the appearance of fine lines, alongside appropriate sun protection.

Glow offers hydration and a refreshed, radiant-looking finish. Fig adds ceramides, peptides and conditioning care to its moisture-focused blend. Choose according to your skin's needs and the texture you want to use consistently.

Keep your goals practical: softness, hydration and smoother-looking skin, rather than chasing an instant lift or a different face.

How to use your chosen moisturiser

Cleanse gently. If serum is part of your routine, apply it first according to its directions, then follow with your moisturiser. Finish with sunscreen separately in the morning.

For Glow, use a pea-sized amount, following your current packaging. For Fig, start with a small, light layer and adjust to your skin's needs. Let layers settle rather than applying more than you need.

Both fit morning and evening routines as tolerated and directed on the packaging. Patch test before first use, avoid direct eye contact and pause if irritation develops.

Our routine guide explains the complete sequence, including gradual serum introduction and scheduled toner days. Our SPF50 guide introduces the separate daytime protection step.

Botanical care with a personal connection

Jojoba, shea and turmeric bring botanical ingredients into Glow's radiance-focused formula. Fig, oat, aloe and frankincense sit alongside ceramides and peptides in Fig Moisturiser.

The fig, or tin, is mentioned alongside the olive in Surah At-Tin, verse 1. That connection is part of the personal inspiration behind Sacred and Fig Moisturiser.

For me, nature, thoughtful formulation and faith can sit together with purpose. Whatever your beliefs, you are welcome here. Read the SHIFAH philosophy for the care behind the products.

Frequently asked questions

Which SHIFAH moisturiser should I choose for dull skin?

Glow is the radiance-focused option, combining vitamin C with hydration and softening ingredients in a lightweight, non-greasy finish.

Which should I choose for dry-feeling skin?

Fig focuses on tightness, flakiness, hydration and moisture-barrier support, with five ceramides, squalane and nourishing conditioning ingredients.

Can oily skin still need moisturiser?

Yes. Dermatology guidance recommends moisturising oily skin too. Choose a formula that suits your skin and introduce it gradually; a lightweight finish may be something you prefer.

Do I need a serum to use either moisturiser?

No. Your moisturiser can be the next step after cleansing. Serum is an optional focused-care addition, not something needed to activate moisturiser.

Does Fig Moisturiser treat eczema?

It provides cosmetic hydration, comfort and moisture-barrier support, not treatment for eczema. Continue prescribed care and ask your clinician about introducing new products during a flare.

Can I use these moisturisers under my eyes?

Follow each product's eye-area directions and avoid direct eye contact. A face moisturiser is not automatically an under-eye product.

Does either replace sunscreen?

No. Apply sunscreen separately in your morning routine and follow its amount and reapplication directions.

A clearer choice, a more comfortable routine

For lightweight radiance and a fresh finish, choose Glow Moisturiser. For nourishing care focused on dry-feeling skin and the moisture barrier, choose Fig Moisturiser.
